Swell is a surf and tide forecast app for iPhone. It ranks the surf spots on your list by how good the surf is right now, shows wave, wind, and tide conditions for each one, and lets you search a worldwide catalog of breaks and beaches to build that list. An optional account adds a profile with your boards, logged sessions, and friends.

Common questions

How do I restore my purchase?

Open the Swell Pro screen and tap Restore purchase. The purchase is tied to your Apple Account, so it restores on any device signed in to it.

Where does the forecast data come from?

Wave, swell, and wind data comes from Open-Meteo. Tide predictions come from NOAA CO-OPS. Neither service is operated by the developer, and neither is guaranteed to be correct.

Can I add my own surf spot?

Yes. Tap + on the Spots tab and search — the catalog covers curated breaks worldwide plus tens of thousands of named beaches. Anything you add gets the same forecast treatment as the built-in spots.

Do I need an account?

No. Forecasts, search, your spot list, and the widget all work without one. An account only adds the Profile tab's boards, sessions, and friends, and reserves your name.

How do I delete my data?

If you made an account, Settings › Delete Account removes it and everything the server holds about you, immediately and permanently. Then delete the app — everything else Swell stores lives on your device and goes with it.
